The Family Hotel was established in 1860, and has served the people of the Hunter and the surrounds since that time. The Hotel has always been more than just a Pub to locals. During the Maitland floods in 1955, the Family Hotel sheltered numerous families who were left homeless. Since undergoing new ownership in 2017, changes have been made to bring the old Hotel back to its glory days. Many loyal and new customers commended both of the new owners, of the job they have done restoring the overall experience at the Hotel.
